Two new M2 iPad Pro models tipped for this year, 11 and 12.9-inch

Later this year, Apple will reportedly update its iPad Pro lineup, adding the M2 system-on-chip to the mix.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has reiterated his March assertion that Apple will include its newest chip in the following iPad Pro versions.

Additionally, he has disclosed that the gadgets will still have 11- and 12.8-inch displays, just like the M1 models already on the market.

A 14- or even 15-inch version is unlikely to be released in 2022.

Gurman also disclosed the new iPad Pro model numbers in a piece for his Power On newsletter. Internally, they are referred to as J617 and J620.

He asserts that part of the reason for the M2 chip's improvement was to better support Stage Manager

Apple's upcoming multitasking feature that would be included in iPadOS 16 sometime in September.

Of course, the freshly launched iPad Air and M1 iPad Pro devices will also be compatible with Stage Manager.
