Is Discord ending our long, cross-platform nightmare?

Xbox and Discord have a new way to make voice calls on your console, opening up all sorts of cross-platform possibilities.
You can now use Discord voice chat on your Xbox as of right now. The function is initially only available to Xbox Insiders, but plans call for it to be made available to everyone "later this year."
If you own an Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One, the change should make communicating with other gamers on PC (and perhaps PlayStation) even simpler
Input has contacted Sony for an update on its own plans for PlayStation Discord compatibility, and will update this post as necessary.
CONNECTING DISCORD – Setting up Discord on your Xbox requires some effort
When hitting the Xbox button on an Xbox, going to "Parties and chats," and then selecting "Try Discord Voice on Xbox,"
if you're already an Insider, should display a QR code that will take you to the Discord app (or prompt you to download it). You may then connect your Microsoft and Discord accounts from there
The "Connections" page under "User Settings" on the Discord mobile and desktop apps also allows you to start a similar procedure.
It's important to note that in order to enable voice chat, you must connect your Xbox account once more even if you have done so previously.
Once you've reached that point, you should be able to join voice channels and even make calls from the Discord app to an Xbox
