NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Custom ‘XOC’ BIOS Pushes Power Limit To Almost 1000W

With a rated TDP of 450W, NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is currently the most power-hungry graphics card, but overclockers have managed to push it far past this limit.

'XOC' BIOS Pushes NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Graphics Card To 890W Power Limit, 950W With Furmark's help, Loaded

MEGAsizeGPU, a Twitter user, was able to unlock a higher power limit owing to the XOC (Extreme Overclock) BIOS he obtained

The BIOS was flashed onto an ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF Gaming graphics card, which arrives with a rated TDP of 450W

which is the reference limit, but once flashed, the GPU's power limit soared to 890W, nearly doubling its original power restriction and dangerously close to the 1KW barrier.

In terms of practical use, such a high power limit will be of little or no use to gamers

because not only do you have the required power to feed the monstrous 890 Watts through a single 16-pin connector that only goes up to 450W

but most of these cards' cooling isn't designed to sustain a high TDP above 600W

There's a reason why there are just two NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards with dual 16-pin connectors on the market, both of which are aimed at LN2 OC aficionados.
