One of the biggest objects in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter is the asteroid 16 Psyche
Additionally, it's practically a gold mine! Psyche has a diameter of around 200 kilometres and is abundant in metals like iron and nickel

Grab some metal from the 16 Psyche asteroid if you want to become wealthy, then. However, astronomers appear to be thinking the same way.
In 2019, our magazine learned that NASA is getting ready to investigate the 16 Psyche asteroid in greater detail
Although that mission is still in the works, NASA astronomers haven't completely forgotten about the asteroid
In advance of the planned expedition to study the asteroid up-close, a number of telescopes amassed sufficient data
according to ScienceAlert, to enable researchers to create a map of the space object.
An M-type asteroid or a dwarf planet?
The new map of the 16 Psyche asteroid was published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets, and it’s known as “The Heterogeneous Surface of Asteroid (16) Psyche.”
The map's lead author and professor at the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) at MIT, Saverio Cambioni, explained:
16 Due to its enormous size, Psyche can be classified as either a M-type asteroid or a dwarf planet.
